Reports from eight European countries summarize current knowledge on incidence within the country, virus ecology, including changes in virus properties, location and characteristics of natural foci, the effect of seasonal and ecological determinants on activity, epidemiological features in man, and experiences in disease control, including use of vaccination. Maps illustrating the distribution of natural foci are included for each country. The second part of the book describes the European form of haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. An outline of methods for serological and virological diagnosis concludes the book.
