On the basis of these experiences, subsequent chapters attempt to identify and clarify the many distinct functions of leadership and to set forth various requirements for leadership development. Defining leadership as an attribute of managers, the book concludes with abundant evidence that training, organizational structure, and social environment can enhance the leadership capability of any person.
