Enumerates the problems and corrective strategies generated by the widespread underestimation of women's contribution to health and socioeconomic development. Noting the key importance of the health needs of women, the report features a point-by-point analysis of the major obstacles and constraints that hinder efforts to achieve full equity for women in both industrialized and developing countries. Throughout the report, emphasis is placed on the interrelationship between the status of women, their personal state of health and education, and their role as health care providers in the family and society at large.
