Emphasis is placed on the need to extend technical training to include a practical education in the sociological and psychological dimensions of family planning. Suggested ways of introducing change range from proposed subjects to be included in medical school curricula to the development of teaching modules that can familiarize health professionals with community attitudes that have a bearing on family planning.
