Le rapport présente des avis autorisés sur les utilisations et les limites de 15 techniques actuelles de diagnostic, de bilan et de traitement des maladies cardiovasculaires. Etabli par un groupe de 19 experts internationaux, il porte pour l'essentiel sur les éléments qui peuvent aider à apprécier l'adéquation de telle ou telle technique, qu'elle soit simple ou très complexe, dans différents environnements cliniques. Les auteurs rappellent tout au long du rapport combien il importe de faire preuve de réalisme, considérant aussi bien les besoins des patients que les ressources à mobiliser, lorsqu'il s'agit d'établir un équilibre entre les avantages que présente une technique, la réalité de son coût et ses résultats à longue échéance. |
