Les 321 substances couvertes représentent la majorité des substances pharmaceutiques contenues dans la liste modèle OMS des médicaments essentiels et un certain nombre de substances communément utilisées. Pour chacune, des tests ont été mis au point pour permettre de vérifier l'identité de la substance en l'absence d'un laboratoire entièrement équipé au moyen d'une méthode simple et facile d'emploi. C'est pourquoi les réactifs et le matériel requis ont été maintenus à un minimum et les réactifs instables, corrosifs, coûteux ou difficiles à se procurer ont été exclus. |
