Meets the need for a manual on malaria diagnosis that brings together the most recent knowledge about the biology of plasmodia, their behaviour in their anopheline vectors, and human response to infection. The book features nine chapters, moving from descriptions of different stages in the life cycle of malaria parasites to chapters covering the clinical features of infection, microscopic diagnosis, methods for the detection of malaria parasites, immunodiagnosis, and laboratory techniques.
