Genetic and related effects :

Genetic and related effects : an updating of selected IARC monographs from volumes 1 to 42, report of an ad-hoc IARC working group which met in Lyon, 2-9 December 1986. - Lyon : International Agency for Research on Cancer, 1987. - 729 p. - IARC monographs on the evaluation of carcinogenic risks to humans. Supplement ; 6 .

Updates knowledge from in vivo and in vitro tests for genetic and related effects in experimental systems and for DNA damage, chromosomal effects, and mutation in humans for all agents previously evaluated in volumes 1-42 of the IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans. Evaluations, which run some 500 pages, are presented according to a common framework, with emphasis placed on studies of DNA damage and chromosomal effects in humans and in vivo studies in animals. For each agent, a table provides an activity profile, indicating end point, test system, whether the test was carried out in the presence or absence of an exogenous metabolic system, activity, and highest ineffective or lowest effective dose. The inclusion of close to 2,500 references indicates the vast body of evidence considered by the working group in preparing these evaluations.
