Description: 182 pISBN: 9241665068ISSN: 2070-2191 (print); 2070-0946 (online)Subject(s): Pesticide residues -- toxicity | Chemical Toxicology and CarcinogenicityNLM classification: WA 240Abstract: Presents detailed evaluations of the available toxicological and other safety data for thirteen pesticides that have the potential to leave residues in food commodities. Separate monographs are presented for acephate, captan, chlorothalonil, coumaphos, cryromazine, ethion, folpet, hexaconazole, methacrifos, methamidophos, 2-phenylphenol, profenofos, and terbufos. Conclusions, which are based on a rigorous assessment of all relevant toxicological studies, form the basis for the acceptable daily intakes for humans established by the Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR). Of the thirteen pesticides under review, cyromazine, hexaconazole, profenofos, and terbufos were evaluated for the first time. For the other compounds, evaluations concentrate on new data that may call for changes in the established acceptable daily intake. The book is intended to assist the work of pesticide manufacturers, government and food regulatory officers, industrial testing laboratories, and toxicology laboratories.Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
